JONATHAN E. SYMER
is a senior partner in Steinberg, Symer & Platt, LLP. Since 1987, his practice has focused almost exclusively on medical malpractice defense and ancillary medico-legal issues. He is experienced in litigating matters involving all major surgical, obstetrical, orthopedic and medical specializations including representing innumerable physicians and health care providers. He has successfully litigated scores of actions to verdict. CLIFFORD A. PLATT
is a senior partner in Steinberg, Symer & Platt, LLP whose practice is focused on representing medical providers in medical malpractice actions, and on representing severely injured individuals in personal injury matters. His litigation experience includes defending providers in a wide array of speciality and general medical care, and prosecuting cases on behalf of injured individuals for negligence, productc liability, premise liability, and construction liability.
Cliff is an accomplished trial lawyer with decades of successful trial results involving catastrophic injuries. He has both served as an editor on the Pace Law Review and been published on insurance defense issues in the Pace Law Review.

CAROL C. POLES
is a senior partner and trial attorney in the firm and has over twenty years of trial experience. She has successfully defended physicians of varied specialties and other health care professionals and institutions achieving favorable verdicts, including many cases seeking multi-million dollar damages.
In 2018, she has been honored with the Lawyers of Distinction Award.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Poles served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York where she successfully defended medical malpractice, personal injury and tort claims. She started her legal career as a prosecutor in the Office of the District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York, where she handled, and tried to verdict, a wide variety of violent felony offenses, including homicides.

ROBERT R. HASKINS
is a partner in the firm. Mr. Haskins’ practice centers on the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals and nursing homes in medical malpractice litigation, and he has also represented numerous plaintiffs in personal injury litigation.
Mr. Haskins is involved in all aspects of medical defense litigation including case assessment, fact and medical investigation and reviews, depositions, motions and appeals. He is also an experienced, certified mediator. Mr. Haskins has taught Reproductive Law and Policy at the State University of New York at New Paltz and serves on the board of a number of local not for profit
